Celebration of students’ artwork at Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art

NORMAN, Okla. – For 102 years students from the University of Oklahoma are in the spotlight at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art. The School of Art and Art History Student is held from April 22 to May 15 in the Nancy Johnston Records Gallery.

Don’t miss the first full moon of the year on Jan. 23

NORMAN, Okla. – One will have the enjoyment to observe the first full moon of the year at 7:45 p.m. (Central Time) on Jan. 23. Native Americans gave it the nickname of “wolf moon” because the starving wolves were howling during winter time.

The moon called also “Luna” in Latin or “Selene” in Greek has since immemorial times, fascinated humanity. Often associated has a goddess in the mythology, the moon bears names of dozens of divinities through the world.

Free weekly statistics seminar begins on Jan. 19 at OU

NORMAN, Okla — For one who is using data, such as analyzing, hypothesis testing, presenting data, model building and interpreting, a free seminar is conducted throughout the spring semester at the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Stewart Wayne, who is a professor of statistics at OU, will teach the first sessions of the semester at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 19th and 21st on floor 2, in room 230/1 at the Physical Science Center building at OU.
